Public Market is motivated by four core values:

We strive to provide products that are:
- Locally grown
- Whole and minimally processed
- Organic, naturally grown or biodynamic
- Produced using methods that respect people, animals, and the environment
- Non-GMO
- Fair Trade
- Minimally packaged
- Pollinator-friendly or using methods that regenerate ecosystems
Our market prioritizes products created as close to our community as possible. We define “local” as sourced within the tristate area: West Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
For those products which cannot be sourced locally, such as bananas or coffee, we seek to make fair and ethical trades that do not exploit workers, animals, or the natural world.
Whole: having just one ingredient – itself.
Minimally processed: using simple, low-tech methods of processing and preserving, retaining maximal nutritional value and flavor.
